Leapmotor gets ready

The Chinese electric car manufacturer Leapmotor is getting ready for Europe. The joint venture Leapmotor International has been founded in Amsterdam, in which Stellantis holds a 51 percent stake. Initially, the T03 and C10 models are to be launched on the market in September. The company is already looking to expand into other international markets outside Europe. The CEO is Tianshu Xin, formerly head of Stellantis' China business.

The Leapmotor C10 is a family vehicle in the D segment and has a range of around 420 kilometers. The T03 is a small five-door city vehicle in the A segment and can travel up to 265 kilometers on a single charge.

Stellantis acquired a 21 percent stake in the Chinese start-up last year for around 1.5 billion euros. Even then, the establishment of the international company was planned, which will take care of business outside China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau. (aum)
