Comment: Arrogant and defiant

Lower Saxony's Environment Minister Olaf Lies (SPD) is responsible for less than one ten-thousandth of the earth's surface and yet he knows how to save the world. The minister quotes the Berlin-based Borderstep Institute for Innovation and Sustainability for his statements in today's Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung. Their study is supposed to prove that only electromobility and certainly not alternative fuels will save the world's climate. In light of the growing realization among car manufacturers that they have followed politicians too readily in their calls for an e-monoculture, Lies' current commitment to electric only seems less arrogant than defiant, says our author.
