Ducati Scrambler in café racer style and Mad Max look

At the Bike Shed MotoShow 2024, which is currently taking place in London, Ducati is presenting two remarkable concept bikes designed by the Centro Stile Ducati on the technical basis of the second-generation Scrambler.

The first concept, called the CR24I, is a café racer-style motorcycle that is an evolution of the 2017 scrambler of the same name. The line is inspired by the bikes that became legendary in British pubs in the 1960s, when enthusiasts challenged each other to complete a lap around the block in time to a record playing on the jukebox.

The project emphasizes the versatility of the technical basis of the Ducati Scrambler, which in this interpretation is characterized by a 17-inch front wheel rim with road tires and the sporty handlebar stub with mirrors. The narrow fairing attached to the tank is reminiscent of icons from Ducati's history, such as the Pantah or the 750 SS. The seat transforms into a single seat thanks to the removable pillion seat cover, which is reminiscent of the classic "Panettone" saddles of the sports motorcycles of the 1970s. And the color scheme appeals to lovers of the iconography of British rockers from the 1960s.

The RR24I in turn draws its inspiration from the post-apocalyptic movie sagas a la "Max Max" & Co. Minimalist and functional down to the smallest detail, in stark contrast to the harmonious lines of the CR24I concept, this Ducati scrambler is a return to the origins of motorcycle construction. It consists of two wheels, a tank, an engine and a handlebar, and no superfluous components. Particular emphasis is placed on the aluminum parts. The clearly visible technical and functional details also lend authenticity to this concept bike.

On the tank, the covers are replaced by a frame to which a tank bag can be attached for the essentials, be it clothing or tools. The part of the seat reserved for the pillion rider can be removed to make room for a luggage rack. At the rear, the case on the left-hand side is reminiscent of the upcycling of an empty canister. The raised Termignoni exhaust underlines the tracker look, which is completed by the Pirelli Scorpion Rally tires on the 18-inch rim at the front and the 17-inch rim at the rear. (aum)
