Alfa Romeo Junior starts from 29,500 euros

The new Alfa Romeo Junior is now also available to order in the entry-level version. The compact SUV, whose original name Milano was dropped due to the nationalist objections of the right-wing populist Italian government, starts at a list price of 29,500 euros. The mild hybrid version Ibrida is available with a 136 hp (100 kW) 1.2-liter petrol engine, which is supported by a 21 kW electric motor in certain driving situations. The all-electric Alfa Romeo Elettrica starts at 39,500 euros.

The standard equipment of the new Alfa Romeo Junior includes 17-inch alloy wheels on the Ibrida version and 18-inch wheels on the Elettrica version. The headlights and rear lights feature LED technology, while the bumpers, side sills and wheel arches have black accents.

The digital cockpit consists of a 10.25-inch TFT display behind the flattened sports steering wheel, while connectivity and entertainment are provided by an infotainment system with a 10.1-inch touchscreen. Driving dynamics control and, in the Ibrida, shift paddles behind the steering wheel are also part of the standard equipment.

In addition to six airbags, the standard safety equipment includes the usual electronic driver assistance systems, including a collision warning system with autonomous emergency braking function, lane departure warning and attention assist, traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, rain and light sensors and rear parking sensors.

The Junior Ibrida accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h in 8.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 206 km/h. The hybrid drive also enables purely electric driving over short distances. The Junior Elettrica drives with the drive configuration familiar from the Stellantis Group, consisting of a 115 kW (156 hp) electric motor and the lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 54 kWh. Alfa Romeo specifies a range of 410 kilometers in the WLTP cycle or up to 592 kilometers in pure city driving. The electric SUV accelerates to 100 km/h in 9.0 seconds and the top speed is limited to 150 km/h. (aum)
