Nissan Qashqai: Looks like new

After three and a half years and 350,000 sales in Europe, Nissan has refreshed the current generation of its best-selling Qashqai. And rarely has the term facelift been more appropriate. Because even though the exterior appearance has remained virtually unchanged apart from touch-ups at the front and rear, as is usual with such mid-term revisions, the crossover still looks as good as new. This is mainly due to the eye-catching radiator grille, which extends across the entire front in a trapezoidal shape with sharp angles.

The front is therefore somewhat reminiscent of the Ariya electric model. The headlights and the daytime running lights, consisting of five lenses, are arranged at an acute angle. Inside, the Qashqai impresses with high-quality materials and 64-color ambient lighting even in the lower trim levels. The improved Around View Monitor offers eight camera perspectives and a transparent hood. Integrated Google services are new. On the drive side, there is the 1.3-liter petrol engine and the e-Power hybrid, which offers a relaxed, but - contrary to all marketing assurances - no electric driving experience. (aum)
