BMW 2 Series Coupé: Extroverted sportiness polished up
With modified design details, extended standard equipment and consistent digitalization, the BMW 2 Series Coupé is set to become even more attractive. All model variants now have the equipment contents of the M Sport package and additional comfort features. New exterior paintwork, light-alloy wheels, steering wheels, decorative trims and seat surfaces accentuate the exterior and interior. The new BMW iDrive and the digital services based on the BMW Operating System 8.5 also contribute to the character of the new 2 Series Coupé. The market launch of the 2 Series Coupé will begin in August 2024.
The drive portfolio of the BMW 2 Series Coupé has a unique selling point in the competitive environment with the 3.0-liter straight-six engine at the top. The 275 kW/374 hp engine transfers its power to the road with the help of all-wheel drive and accelerates the BMW M240i xDrive Coupé from zero to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds.
In addition to the in-line six-cylinder engine of the BMW M automobile, the BMW 2 Series Coupé is available with a choice of three other petrol engines and a diesel engine, each with four cylinders and a displacement of 2.0 liters. The entry-level model is the new BMW 218i Coupé, which is powered by a 115 kW/156 hp petrol engine and accelerates from standstill to 100 km/h in 8.7 seconds.
The BMW 220i Coupé with 135 kW/184 hp and a sprint time of 7.5 seconds and the BMW 230i Coupé, whose maximum output of 180 kW/245 hp enables the standard sprint in 5.9 seconds, rank above it.
The diesel engine of the BMW 220d Coupé offers pulling power and efficiency. It generates a maximum output of 140 kW/190 hp and is combined with 48-volt mild hybrid technology. Its starter generator, which is integrated into the belt drive, supports the combustion engine with an additional output of 8 kW/11 hp. This enables the new BMW 220d Coupé to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds.
All engines are combined with an 8-speed Steptronic transmission. (aum)
