Hyundai i30: More comfort and connectivity for compact bestseller

The revised Hyundai i30 is now available to order. The compact bestseller will continue to be offered as a five-door hatchback model and as an estate, each in two equipment lines. The Advantage equipment line marks the entry level with prices starting at 27,590 euros for the five-door model, while the estate always costs 1000 euros extra.

On the outside, the Korean Golf rival is virtually unchanged apart from a retouched front end with a redesigned radiator grille, full LED headlights and daytime running lights, LED tail lights, 17-inch alloy wheels and tinted privacy glass from the B-pillar upwards. The estate comes with black roof rails and a roof spoiler painted in the body color.

Inside, there are technical innovations in terms of connectivity and safety. The new digital cockpit with a 10.3-inch display is now standard in the basic version, as are the new USB-C charging ports at the front and rear and over-the-air map updates. In terms of infotainment and connectivity, a navigation system with a 10.3-inch display, smartphone integration and Bluelink Connect are also included as standard. Comfort is ensured by dual-zone automatic air conditioning, a multifunction steering wheel, heated front seats, an electric parking brake and a rain sensor.

The standard safety equipment includes autonomous emergency brake assist with pedestrian and new cyclist detection, attention assist, lane following and lane keeping assist as well as traffic sign recognition. Front and rear parking assistance and a reversing camera make parking easier.

There are also optional packages with a new highway assistant, navigation-based cruise control, turn-off function for the autonomous emergency brake assistant, blind spot and exit warning, cross-traffic assistant and smart key system with start/stop button. A panoramic glass sunroof is also available as an extra for the i30 Advantage. Both body variants are also optionally available in the sporty N Line equipment line (from €31,650).

The drive range includes a 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine with 100 hp (74 kW) and a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine with 48-volt hybrid system and 140 hp (103 kW). In addition to a manual six-speed gearbox, a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) is also available for both engines for an additional €2000. (aum)
