Seat Leon with new engines and technologies

Seat has given the Leon a technical refresh. This affects both the engines and the interior. Matrix LED headlights are also available as an option for the first time.

In future, the entry-level engine will be the 1.5 TSI with 116 PS (85 kW), which offers 220 Newton meters of torque, 20 Nm more than the previous base model. It is combined with a six-speed manual gearbox. The 1.5-liter mild hybrid e-TSI with 48-volt technology is available with either 115 hp (85 kW) or 150 hp (110 kW). Seat also offers a new plug-in hybrid morphology that delivers 204 PS (150 kW) and 350 Nm. It combines the 150 hp petrol engine with an 85 kW electric motor (115 hp). The battery capacity of 19.7 kWh provides a purely electric range of over 100 kilometers. The battery can be charged with up to 50 kW on DC fast chargers or with 11 kW on an AC wallbox at home.

In the interior of the new model year, Seat is focusing on improved digitalization. The HMI interfaces (Human Machine Interface) have been upgraded. The infotainment system display has grown from 8.25 inches to 10.4 inches, with a 12.9-inch screen also available as an option. The touch sliders are now illuminated. Smartphones and other mobile devices can be charged wirelessly with up to 15 kW, including cooling. (aum)
