Preview: One hybrid, two two-wheelers and three electricians
We'll be bringing you this next week: It took Audi a while to finish developing the Q6 e-Tron. Software problems and a change of CEO repeatedly delayed the start of series production of the electric SUV. The first electric car from Ingolstadt on the new Group electric platform will now roll into dealerships in August. Frank Wald got behind the wheel before then and tells us whether it was worth the wait. The Elroq from Skoda is an entry-level model for electric mobility. We have already driven the new electric model and provide details. The market launch is next year.
Previously, the record for electric vehicles was seven countries with one battery charge. Lucid has now increased this to nine countries and also set a new record for range. In addition, a first test drive with the new Fiat 600 Hybrid is scheduled for next week. The Italian Stellantis brand is thus following the example of its brand brother and technology twin, the Jeep Avenger, which followed up the electric version with an electrified combustion engine with 100 hp and a 21 kW electric motor.
Triumph is expanding its mid-range range with the Daytona 660, a handy super sports bike with a few more horsepower than its Trident and Sport siblings, which impresses with its engine and handling. Although it is not smooth in the practical test, it is good-natured and significantly more comfortable than its predecessor.
Now that the good old moped is as good as extinct, with two exceptions, S-Pedelcs are following in its footsteps. And they don't always have to look like bicycles, but can certainly continue the moped tradition in terms of style. The Yamaha Booster is not only a 45 km/h bike with a slightly different shape, but in our ride report it also passes as a designer piece.
