En miniature: football on four wheels
Revell has brought out an unusual RC car set for all car fans who love soccer. In "Football League", two remote-controlled vehicles compete in a game, or rather a race for the ball. The main protagonists are two vehicles that stylistically represent a mixture of rally buggy and pick-up. They are equipped with a fork at the front to guide the ball and take shots.
Revell specifies the scale of the remote-controlled kicker on four wheels as 1:22. The Lexan bodywork lights up and therefore also allows encounters under floodlights. The soft soccer has a diameter of six centimeters. The two plastic goals included in the set are 22 centimetres wide, twelve centimetres high and seven centimetres deep. There is also a sticker sheet with nine nationality stickers and a few other soccer motifs to personalize the two cars, which are available in white and under construction. They are each moved using a remote control with two joysticks for forwards and backwards as well as left and right. A total of ten AA batteries are also required.
The game itself works and only requires a little practice with the controls and ball control. The biggest drawback of the idea, which is good in itself, is the lack of a playing field as shown in the product video, for example. Your own creativity is required here. A piece of grass carpet from the DIY store works well and cheaply and can be easily rolled up again after the game for storage. A barrier is also recommended to prevent the ball from constantly rolling out of bounds or under the cupboard. You can also make this yourself from cardboard strips or wooden slats.
At a price of 29.99 euros, the "RC Car Revell Football League" is definitely an attractive offer that is not only fun for the current European Football Championship. (aum)
