Ford makes an effort with the Capri

For its second fully electric model of the modern era, Ford is drawing on the legendary model name Capri. However, the electric car has nothing to do with a sports coupé, even though the Cologne-based company has borrowed some body details from the original. The Capri of the electric age comes as a 4.63-meter-long saloon and is marketed as an "SUV coupé" in keeping with the spirit of the times.

For the model launch, Ford is offering the Capri, which can be ordered now, at prices starting at 51,950 euros with an extended-range battery and rear-wheel drive. The rear engine delivers 210 kW (286 hp) and 545 Newton meters of torque. This enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds. The top speed is limited to 180 km/h. Ford states a standard range of up to 627 kilometers. Alternatively, an all-wheel drive version with an additional engine on the front axle is available, which delivers a further 134 Nm. The total output of 250 kW (340 hp) accelerates the car to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds. The top speed is also limited to 180 kilometers and the range is slightly lower.

Dealers are expecting the first vehicles at the end of the year. The official market launch will then be at the beginning of 2025 (aum).
