The Minions fool around with Volkswagen

The mischievous Minions from "I - Simply Incorrigible 4" by Illumination are now playing a special role in a worldwide campaign by Volkswagen. To this end, the car manufacturer is relying on several simultaneous marketing measures in the individual markets as part of a global cooperation with the movie.

In Germany, for example, the figures with the characteristic welding goggles will appear together with the players of the German national team in a joint campaign with the German Football Association (DFB) to draw attention to the new "GOAL" special models at the start of the European Championship. The collaboration will start in time for the release of the fourth installment of Illumination's animated film series "I - Simply Incorrigible" (original title: "Despicable Me") on July 3, 2024 in the USA and on July 11, 2024 in German cinemas.

Further activities with the Minions are also planned: In North America, the campaign has already started and is promoting the VW Atlas. In Latin America and Mexico, the focus will be on the VW Teramont model. Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles will also join the global cooperation.

The animated series "I - Simply Incorrigible" about the former super villain Gru, his family and the Minions is considered the biggest and most successful in the world. Over 500 million viewers around the globe have seen the films in theaters. The Minions have over 60 million followers on all social media channels, with over 47 million fans on Facebook alone.
