The short Regent relies on single beds

La Strada, the noble motorhome manufacturer from Wetterau, has presented a new compact motorhome based on the Mercedes Sprinter panel van. As the Regent E, the almost six-meter-long van dispenses with the usual half-dinette on the left-hand side of the living area. The seats for the driver and front passenger can be turned as usual and, together with an insertable table, become a breakfast nook.

The kitchen and washroom are adjoined by two lengthways beds in the rear, the foot ends of which can each be converted into an upholstered seat. The table top can also be attached here, creating a face-to-face seating area for two people. Another new feature of the Regent E is the absence of a gas supply in cylinders; instead, the manufacturer has fitted a tank for 18 liters of propane gas under the rear of the vehicle. This benefits the storage space available. The new compact motorhome costs 105,000 euros as a basic model with rear-wheel drive and powered by a 160 hp (117 kW) four-cylinder diesel engine. (aum/mk)
